Like i said, i would suggest using CenterIM from http://www.centerim.org/
- it's just better than CenterICQ because it contains bugfixes.

Your above problem looks like you have no 'play' installed. Two ways:
either install "play" (which is an audio play program) or configure
centericq to not use it (e.g. comment out anything in $HOME/.centericq/soun=
ds).

If the core dump persists after that, you just have the way switching to
CenterIM ...
