R: R: Cricket Performance

All my servers was connected to 100Mb hub, each collector ethernet used
constantly about 100-200 kb/s inbound, don't remember exactly, sure below
500 kb/s, never had network congestion.
I've never had file locking problems. Remember to compile your configuration
on your nfs host only, could be necessary to modify collector script in
order to block automatic recompile on configuration changes.

I used this configuration until some years ago and it worked fine.

I have the same kind of configuration but without NFS. I have 5 data
collectors each collecting stats on about 1000 devices each that I
periodically rsync config and data information between a central host. I am
definitely planning on moving to the NFS model and was concerned that there
might be file-locking issues, etc. Glad to hear that it worked out for you.
Do you happen to track bandwidth utilization between your collectors and the
central NFS host?
