Yes, I do this now.  You need to configure all of the targets with

target --default--
	collect = false

or else the collector will try to collect. :-)

Also, set the global variable to enable monitor thresholds.  

BTW, how did you create the .rrd files initially?

is there a way to use the monitor thresholds without using the cricket collector?
i generate the rrd file by another polling engine and i use cricket just as front end, but I'm
interested to use the monitor threshold function.
