This one tricked me too when I first started using Cricket.  You need
to set directory-desc in the parent directory of the items that you
want to describe.

So if you have routers/router1, routers/router2, routers/router3, etc.,
you would do:

   directory-desc = "Those wonderful Routers!"

in the routers/ directory.
