Hi all,
I am configuring the DHCPv6 setup on my local systems and can obtain an
IPv6 address from my DHCP appliance. However, I am encountering an issue
where the lease file does not display the hostname or DUID of the DHCP
clients.
Sample lease file.
cat /var/db/dhcpd6.leases
# The format of this file is documented in the dhcpd.leases(5) manual
page.
# This lease file was written by isc-dhcp-4.4.3-P1
#
authoring-byte-order entry is generated, DO NOT DELETE
authoring-byte-order little-endian;
server-duid "\000\001\000\001-\351\270\267\000PV\200\350\337";
server-duid "\000\001\000\001-\351\270\267\000PV\200\350\337";
ia-na "\000\000\000\000\000\001\000\001-\225\271\351`>_=b\034" {
cltt 1 2024/09/09 09:35:01;
iaaddr xxxx:470:edb5:200::1cf { //Masked
binding state active;
preferred-life 27000;
max-life 43200;
ends 1 2024/09/09 21:35:01;
}
}
ia-na "#\316\364\010\000\001\000\001+\204\373O\364\316#\310\033g" {
cltt 1 2024/09/09 09:49:48;
iaaddr xxxx:470:edb5:200::1c4 { //Masked
binding state active;
preferred-life 27000;
max-life 43200;
ends 1 2024/09/09 21:49:48;
}
}
I have explored various configuration parameters and compile-time options
to enable the display of hostnames and DUIDs in the lease file, but none
have proven effective. I would appreciate assistance from anyone who has
experience with this or has any insights into resolving the issue.
Thanks In advance
Kraishak
