Directory Administrator 1.5.1 Crashes on ia64 box

I have compiled DA 1.5.1 using GCC 3.2.3 and bintuils-2.13
The compile runs fine, but when I try to connect to the ldap server the
application crashes and closes.
I have run gdb and this is what I get:
