The answer is in the archives of this list (among others), but off the top of my
memory, you have to put 'allow bind_v2' in slapd.conf (and restart slapd) as
diradmin uses protocol 2 to connect only. There is a patch floating around the
list as well which patches DA to connect with v3 (the default LDAP protocol
nowadays), and I believe that'll be in the next release (BTW, when will the
next release be? Will it include that fix? What about the SaMBa schema? Feel
free to start a new thread rather than hijacking this one ;)).
