Problems compiling on Solaris 9

Trying to install directory administrator 1.5.1 on Solaris 9 (sparc)
with gnome 2.0.

Gnome was originally installed using the Solaris packages (pkgadd)

When I run configure I get the following error message:


checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/local/bin/install -c
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking for gawk... gawk
checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes
checking for gnome-config... no
checking for gnomeConf.sh file in /usr/local/lib... not found
configure: error: Could not find the gnomeConf.sh file that is generated
by gnome-libs install

There is no gnomeConf.sh anywhere on the system.  I checked other
Solaris machines that had gnome installed and no such file was found on
any gnome hosts.

I can only assume from this that installing gnome using the Solaris
packages is not compatible with building directory administrator.  Can
anyone enlighten me on this?
