ehahem, 

1. the restrictions on structural integrity are due to an anal
interpretation of the RFCs, as far as I know.  Other directory servers
simply don't have those restrictions.  All I can say is that many, many
nice things which would be possible under the common interpretation of
the standard, are simply outlawed by OpenLDAP.

2. NDS always has had very mature administration tools, whereas with
OpenLDAP you're practically stuck with the ldap command-line tools.
That is simply unacceptable in a corporate environment.
