This pam-ldap integration is not required. You can disable it be 
unchecking the "This user logs on to different hosts" or similar. I 
don't remember the exact text at the moment; I am on a strange box 
without DA handy.

And do try to remember, this is free software, done by volunteers. 
Excessive complaining and harsh criticism is very likely to be ignored. 
None of us are getting a new Lamborghini if we get 1m new users, 
likewise we won't go bankrupt if we lose 1m users...

If you'd like to volunteer to the project, in any way, then I might take 
the time to address your requests/concerns. It seems that Robert 
Mortimer, who volunteered to redo the website, has gone awol. I haven't 
heard from him in a long time, but perhaps he is on summer vacation. Are 
you interested in helping with that?
