If you have enough money to register trademarks, or a business need to have trademarks in the first place, then this amount of money is small peanuts. Blame ICANN for perpetuating the TM tax by rolling out a thousand and fifty new domain extensions... They need to fund their meetings in top Paris hotels and such, you know. They have been doing the opposite. If they opened up a lot more tlds, maybe companies would stop trying to get domains similar to their trademarks in every TLD. If the trademark people really want to deal with this, then maybe they should make a trademark tld that requires you to have a trademark on domain names held there.
