whitebusfamily.co.nz does have NS records of "a.ns", "b.ns", etc - which
certainly smells of tinydns.

A packet sniffer shows the problem. The TXT record is stated as being 11
bytes, whereas the TXT record contains 23 bytes of data

All I know is that I run tinydns and do not see this problem, so all I
can think of is that they are running some "patched" variant that is
broken. Similar to BIND, tinydns relies on a text file to contain the
DNS data, and so the opportunity for a "fat finger" mistake to cause
this should be zero - which leaves patching as the primary suspect.

evanta.co.nz runs the DNS for them - so they would be best to answer this.
