I got some time to play around with TinyDNS some more this morning, and I
think you're right about that. TinyDNS seems to handle TXT records
correctly.

There seems to be plenty of ways to shoot yourself in the foot by
generating generic (:) entries in your data files. I have seen web based
tools that generate SPF records that way, such as
http://www.anders.com/projects/sysadmin/djbdnsRecordBuilder/ (but it seems
to work correctly).

I'm not sure what else to do besides posting here, which seems to be the
most obvious forum for people who maintain tools that maintain TinyDNS data
files. If you maintain such a tool, and you're reading this, please double
check that you are generating these records correctly.

I'm going to try contacting the administrators of the domains I identified.
Responses may be hit or miss for a strange request like this, but maybe
I'll get lucky.
