And I hope no reasonable person subjects himself to use of that POS.  The
deployed version should be marked obsolete.  However, I do have a complete
rewrite in private use now.  It provides functionality close to redo with along
with build extensions I require, like automatic borrowing of source files into
the current project.  It depends only on sh and awk but exhibits some
performance limitations that I don't care much about at present.  Provided that
the structure of your build does not change you can generate Makefile and gain
speed.  It lacks documentation but works essentially like build.  Please
