TTL From Parent or Child Zone?

Hi all, One of the particular annoyances I have with BIND is that it blatantly ignores RFC 2181 ranking rules. It lets the TTL from a parent zone take over a child zone. So, if I want to look up a host by name and it happens to be serving a domain's DNS and also to be inside that domain's namespace, so that the glue for the domain's name from the upper-level zone includes the child's name and address, BIND will go caching the non-authoritative, additional data when it really wants the proper, authoritative data from the master zone, including the TTL, plus the right set of nameservers at the cut. Is djbdns likewise afflicted by this bug? I do consider it a bug unless there's another way to read the RFCs, on which point I'm happy to further discuss. But BIND has exceeded the "Blatant rule-breaking threshold" already, and my bugs have all gone unanswered. Besides, now I only want a cache, and dnscache is cute.
