aaaa records

I run a Nagios server checking a lot of hosts. On this server I run a
caching dns with FORWARDONLY set to 1. This works fine.

But for every ping to a host Nagios does 4 queries for AAAA records, but
there are no AAAA records for these hosts (at least: not yet) Of course
the ipv4 answers are cached, but Nagios keeps on asking for AAAA
records. And dnscachex is forwarding these queries. Most of the queries
are for an internal domain and will be sent to (an ipv6 patched)
tinydns.

nagios host                  remote host
forwarding dnscache1 ----> remote dnscache2 + tinydns

I can see in the logs of tinydns that the dnscache2 (that runs on the
same host) caches these non-existing replies.

Why is the forwarding dnscache1 not caching these non existant queries
like dnscache2 does?
