It's nothing that can't be fixed with a better data structure / algorithm, however Jeff seems to be occupied with other matters and nobody else has stepped up to the plate. He seems content to let Matthew Dempsky carry the torch. I suspect the only thing we'll see from djb anytime soon is maybe further releases of NaCl.
