bind starts fine and runs, but I don't have any DLZ zones.
If I put my flat file zones back into the named.conf, they work.

I've been starting with pretty much the same line you suggested (-d 5
instead of -d 1), but I tried it anyway. No change.

modules?

Dumb down your named.conf dlz "postgres zone" section to the first two
required queries removing the other queries.

The dlz driver will take bind down if your queries are not constructed
properly.

And try starting named-sdb like so and query from another terminal:

named-sdb -g -d 1
