Hi, I use DLZ with mysql, not LDAP, but it almost sounds like an error in the allow-transfer section of your named.conf. Better send it to the list. Sorry all for top posting; stupid inflexible blackberry. ------Original Message------ From: Robert Markula To: [email protected] ReplyTo: [email protected] Subject: [Bind-dlz-testers] What the heck does "parsing allow zone transferquery failed" mean? Sent: Aug 17, 2009 9:44 AM Hey there, trying to bind (sic :-)) LDAP to bind9, I followed the small tutorial at [1]. I included the dlz.schema, added the necessary LDAP data and configured the LDAP driver in /etc/bind/named.conf. However, trying to start bind9 with the new configuration, I get the following errors: 17-Aug-2009 16:12:31.682 Loading 'ldap zone' using driver ldap 17-Aug-2009 16:12:31.683 Loading SDLZ driver. 17-Aug-2009 16:12:31.684 LDAP driver running multithreaded 17-Aug-2009 16:12:31.685 parsing allow zone transfer query failed 17-Aug-2009 16:12:31.686 SDLZ driver failed to load. 17-Aug-2009 16:12:31.687 DLZ driver failed to load. 17-Aug-2009 16:12:31.688 load_configuration: failure 17-Aug-2009 16:12:31.689 loading configuration: failure 17-Aug-2009 16:12:31.689 exiting (due to fatal error) Unfortunately, google isn't very helpful upon searching for an answer. And the error message isn't very clear either. What does "parsing allow zone transfer query failed" mean? Where did the config go wrong? I can attach my config files, if needed. Using bind9 9.5.1 on Ubuntu 9.04 server. And yesss, I even recompiled with DLZ enabled.
