If I were, I could have a working DNSSEC prototype going in six months and have stable code with DNSSEC done by the end of the year. I could then merge the authoritative code with the recursive code again, along with a stand-alone recursive daemon for people who need just recursion (just as there is a non-recursive caching-only version of Deadwood for people who do not need full DNS recursion). If I could find an employer willing to have me work on MaraDNS every other Friday, I probably wouldn't be able to implement DNSSEC nor full merging of the two code bases, but I could implement features people have been asking for, such a split horizon, including other files in one's mararc, and so on. - Sam
