Hello everybody, Yes, it's that time again: a new Posadis/Poslib/Dnsquery/Mfedit release! From http://www.posadis.org/news/posadis-0.60.3-announcement.php: > As the resolver part of Posadis has been getting more and more user > feedback, some reliability issues have emerged lately that this > release is meant to address. Particularly, users of Posadis 0.60.x > have reported 100% CPU usage issues and, in some cases, crashes. Now, > a lot of problems have already been fixed, though some issues are > still being reported. I released 0.60.3 because it seems the problems > I can easily reproduce myself are probably fixed by now. I /know/ that > there are still issues left, and I'll certainly do some further > fixing, hoping to pull a new, even more reliable release soon. Some new features > include rudimentary cache statistics and DNS server detection for > Windows. > > * Fixed bug where overriding forwarding rules wouldn't work in > most cases > * Fixed crash when defining child before parent due to parent > pointer not being set > * Be less picky about receiving forwarded answers > * Yet some more s/authoritive/authoritative > * Make posask/poshost support multiple servers to query > * Fixed crash for embedded config settings without a value > * Clarified error messages in master file comments > * Fixed error in Posadisrc example: zone_update_ttl should have > been update_ttl > * Plugin dir is now also appended if you have nonstandard dirs > * Added ability to handle -1 for max_tcp_conns > * Fixed serial number check for secondary code: only /newer/ > serials will actually cause an update. > * Fixed bug where the cache would _never_ be cleaned up > * Added cache statistics > * If we run out of patience, we should return SRVFAIL > * Fixed bug where cache-ns items would expire from cache > * Fixed hashvector bug: inconsistent use of treshold, ultimately > able to cause crashes and 100% CPU usage > * Removed 'filing for removal' messages if not in debug mode > * Make sure we don't get stuck with incomplete unrepairable cache > info > * Fixed possible problem with domain names getting lost from the > cache removal queue > * Fixed bug where implicitly created domain names would not be > added to the cache removal list > > > Poslib 1.0.3 changes > > Some very minor changes here. > > * Fixed bug where queries with the RD bit would be answered, > possibly causing a flood in combination with IP spoofing (fixed > in 1.0.2-1). > * Fixed bug where, if Posadis is at its max number of threads and > it receives a message with size smaller than the buffer size, > the ID with which an answer is sent back is wrong (fixed in > 1.0.2-1). > * Fixed bug where posthreads would neither be joined nor detached, > causing a memory leak (fixed in 1.0.2-1). > * Fix check for -lpthread on Linux > * Fixed bug where "no threads left" error answer code would assert > the question list being nonempty. > * Made the fix for non-detached posthreads more Borland > C++/pthreadVC.dll-proof (detaching a joined thread apparently > results in undefined behavior; for Borland C++ this means a crash). > * Removed erroneous in_addr6 references in Windows IPv6 code > * Added poslib_config_init() function to reset config values > * Made poslib/server/server.h include configuration.h > * Added configuration.h to poslib/server/server.h > * Fixed bug for addr/length-type IP ranges > > > Dnsquery 0.60.3 changes > > Some small changes to make the output look better. > > * Now correctly display whether tcp or udp was used > * Display time query took in advanced mode > * Cleaned up spacing a bit > * Display 'querying ...' message > * 'Copy to clipboard' functionality > * Fixed auto-PTR-selection after loading the QTYPE from a > configuration file (again? yes, again) > > > Mfedit 0.60.3 changes > > Automatic serial increase functionality. Really neat! > > * Added automatical serial number increase functionality > * No longer clean undo list after saving (doesn't actually make > sense?) > * Now display our own actual icon in the about box rather than > some art.gnome.org background ;-) > Grab your builds and let me know about your mileage!
