TOTAL FACE PALM MOMENT!  I did not think to ask the client but yes, they 
did in fact just move the DB to a galera cluster instead of a local 
instance.  I will be sure to be tidying up the old DB so it's no longer 
a potential gotcha.

Thank you for helping me remove my head from my posterior. :)
