I'm not using or requiring redhat-printerconf. But redhat-printerconf
requires LPRng, which is why the Red Hat packager for cups decided to make
the cups package provide LPRng. When rebuilding the cups package, I
thought no harm of this and left it in. I can remove LPRng from the
"Provides" line in the cups spec file and that will probably allow the
cups package to be upgraded over LPRng with 'rpm -U'. Can anyone confirm
this? If it is indeed a bug that the cups package both provides and
obsoletes LPRng, I'd like to report it to Red Hat asap, because I think it
went into Fedora.
