I've had an initial look at BackupEdge - www.microlite.com - which looks very good. It can span backups across media, do incrementals, schedules, etc. It can also build bootable DVDs/CDs/tapes (if you have the right type of tape drive) which can do a "bare-metal" recovery. I haven't had time to test that feature in detail.
