Hi Jason, > To clarify, my only intention with creating the channel was to have a > place to casually chat with other users of the E-Smith/SME distro. I just tryed to explain why contribs.org has not claimed it (anymore). > I do think however that having a place of immediate contact with a community of users though a > IRC channel can be a positive. The php chat was rather "clunky feeling" > to me and since I am always on freenode I thought it would nice to have > a channel going. Maybe there are people out there who want to get in touch with 'fellow' contributers/developers. I hang around freenode's channels too, and benefited from immediate help many times ;-) #e-smith didn't make it to the 'broad public' but it's still there. > But like I said if people believe this to be a > distraction I will let it lapse. I wouldn't do that if I was you. Maybe your annonuncement draw enough attention to get some 'life' on this channel. Personally I would be interested to see what happens. There's 1 catch I guess, you have to be ops for a while or 'auto ops' the chan.
