Etherboot does not currently speak AoE, but the modular construction of 
Etherboot should allow fairly easy addition of AoE as a network booting 
protocol.

I have been following AoE development in Linux Magazine (June 2005 
issue has an article), and the folks at Coraid seem to be very active 
in promoting the protocol.  I think it would be nice to have it as an 
option.

The protocol is very lightweight and well documented, and seems like a 
useful way to leverage the advantages of low-cost ATA drives and 
Ethernet networks.  For many applications, they show some advantages 
over iSCSI in term of cost/performance ratios.

Perhaps this is something for the ToDo wiki page (wiki.etherboot.org) 
that Geert has begun.  ( Actually, I just added it there ) as a 
possible ToDo item at:

It looks like a fun project for someone one who wishes to learn more 
about hacking Etherboot.
