Hi Borg No. One
Thank you for warning me about the problems with
AwdBedit.
You asked:
1.) Motherboard model?:
This is a link to the motherboard that the pc have:
http://motherboards.mbarron.net/models/pcchips/m520.htm
2.) The module type I used when inserting the etherboot
file?:
I put the etherboot file into the
Award 4.51 BIOS file as a PCI type and I also tried
Other type. None of them tried the NIC as boot device.
PCI
cbrom215 backup.bin /pci eb-5_1~1.zro
Other
cbrom215 backup.bin /other 0800:0000 eb-5_1~1.zro
(the original file name that I got from
www.rom-o-matic.net is eb-5(1).2.4-rtl8029.zrom
- the file name was shortened on the stiffy by
the DOS file convention (8.3) and that was what I
used.)
I used Uniflash to copy the original BIOS file and after
I made changes I used it to flash it back to the BIOS.
One of the other things that I tried is to Enable the
Bootrom on the NIC although
the bootrom socket is empty. That made no differance.
