Stop right there. :-)  The issue is almost certianly related to the
Broadcom NIC's etherboot driver.  Unfortunately there are more revisions
than you can count.  It would be helpful if you tried to determine the
point at which this particular NIC started working in the Linux kernel
(it's a starting point to what might need to change in the Etherboot
driver).  

Also, any information that you can post on the revision, phy, etc would
be helpful.  However, your best chance at getting help for this issue is
to send a copy of the card to a willing developer.  Short of that,
contact Broadcom and ask for assistance.
