Hi Shao,
yes, can attach the hdd to vista or to my w2k8 box. But i only have
one box. That means, the ID of the imaged hd, where i took w2k8 from is
in this box.

I run from one problem to another ;-)

I want to install w2k8 directly on iscsi, but all my nics will not boot
from cd/dvd after the failed root-path iscsi.
So i decided to setup booting winpe 2.1 to start the w2k8 dvd from
there.

This is described on the etherboot wiki, but when i follow the wiki and
make the described enhancements in winpe, i have no iscsi inside winpe
2.1.

So i use the official iscsi users guide and merge the commands from
thei with the commands from the wiki.

Now i have a working winpe and i can start the msiscsi service on winpe
and can connect to fresh formatted iscsi-target.

On my laptop:
But the w2k8 installer told me, that i cannot install to an usb or iee
1394 device. Any hints?

 On my desktop:
strange things happening inside winpe to the network card.

it boots and make the dhcp request with the right MAC, gets the winpe
image, sets up the network, make dhcp and gets not the right IP.
the nvidia net driver or winpe change the MAC of my card.

orig: 00:17:31:8F:0E:07
in winpe: 07:0E:8F:31:17:00

strange.

I tried to echange the nvidie net driver, but until nw it seems not to
use it.

On my laptop, where at the first time the e1000 is not recognzied, the
implementation of the driver with pxeimg works.

So at the moment i still have no w2k8 over iscsi.

my work:
1. boot winpe on my laptop, and check uniqueID of the w2k8 image and
change it.

2. Try to get a hint why iscsi is recognized as USB during installation
of w2k8.

3.Fix the strange MAC Adress Problem, because my desktop even cannot
ping the default gw with its strange winpe network configuration. ;-)

Thanks so far.

PS:Anyone checked the winpe 2.1 part in the etherboot wiki?
