Re: San-Boot Fedora 11 ISCSI

Ok, I tried to install Fedora 11 i386 on my VMware server 2.0 tonight.  I
used the same tut as below, I followed the instructions to the letter, I am
installing from a PXE menu using the url install and pointing to the ISO
mounted and hosted on my webserver.  Same thing, I rebooted after install
and I got a kernel panic, the grub menu shows up but nothing after, I looked
into the grub menu and found no initrd file entry or file.  I mounted the
root partition on another machine and found in the install log it says;

 

Installing kernel-PAE-2.6.30.8-64.fc11.i686

iscsiadm: no records found!

mkinitrd failed

warning: %post(kernel-PAE-2.6.30.8-64.fc11.i686) scriptlet failed, exit
status 1

Installing libdrm-2.4.11-2.fc11.i586

 

Not sure what to do now, is it possible to break the install before it tries
to install the kernel and check the paths for my iscsi target.

I'm trying to get a fedora 11 install to boot from SAN using ISCSI and gPXE.

To install the fedora image I comment out the entire if statement so that
host uses the pxelinux.0 boot menu, I then start a pxe install of fedora
using vnc.  Before rebooting after the install I uncomment the if statement
to load gpxe.

I have tried both fedora 10 and 11 with the same results.

 

Everything installs fine, but on reboot I get a kernel panic, I have looked
into the grub.conf file and found I have no initrd command and when looking
for it on the drive I don't see it anywhere.

 

Does anyone have any clues as to why I have no initrd?
