I'm not sure on which version of gpxe the mboot chain worked tho. 
It was my first try on adding in esxi now, and it failed. 

Maybe viswa can say more about that?

For the record, i tried a memdisk boot with iso emulation of the esxi 4 iso as well, and gives me a hang at the same moment.

LINUX com32/memdisk
APPEND iso raw
INITRD install/vmware/esxi40update1.iso
