In regards to: gPXE -> PXELINUX (pxelinux.0) -> mboot.c32 or: gpxelinux.0 -> mboot.c32 it might be worth noting that the PXELINUX (pxelinux.0) version should match the mboot.c32 version; they might be best off from the same compilation, for example. That might or might not be relevant. For the case of: gPXE -> mboot.c32 it's possible that the COM32 implementation in gPXE might be older than what a newer mboot.c32 might expect.
