Good evening overthere.

If you install Windows 7/Server 2008 direct to a SAN target and the BIOS 
fails to fall back to CDROM, it might be the controller that acts in AHCI 
mode. Switching it to IDE let me install Windows 7 on much HP boxes, which 
didn't in AHCI mode before.

The bad news: Switching back to AHCI mode after Windows made its way into 
the SAN, Windows won't boot anymore. Seems the NIC's pci bus location 
changed, similar to the VMware issue...
