The gPXE tg3 driver is still using the Etherboot legacy driver API, which allows for only one network device. Until someone rewrites this driver to use the gPXE API, there's no (non-hackish) solution to this problem. I believe that Marty was working on a tg3 rewrite a year or two ago, but I don't know what happened to it. Marty?
