@Jaap:
Well, if there is equipment that still uses 72 and 73, then there should
be a configuration option to allow the old behaviour back. We just had
that discussion a few days ago on the wireshark list. I consider just
changing a working feature so that it doesn't work after that any more
without providing a way back to the old behaviour a bug.

Ethereal has become Wireshark (www.wireshark.org). Newer software
versions (like 0.99.2) are available over there. Support has moved to
the [email protected] list.
