Hello, I want to start development of a dissector.

Therefore I need the "SDK": headers and libraries of Ethereal. I downloaded
ethereal-1.1.0-SVN-18189.tar.gz and unzipped it. Reading README.Win32 I
found that I need to run "nmake -f makefile.nmake setup". This makefile
referes to a program "rm" that is neither part of Windows XP nor Visual C++.
I know this program only from a Unix system.

The README.Win32 suggests that using CYGWIN is not a good choice, if I want
to run the dissector DLL on a PC without CYGWIN. So how do I setup and
configure the "SDK" without CYGWIN? Are there some small packages with stuff
like "rm" to download anywhere?

Is there a way to manually download additional libs and configure the "SDK"?

I also don't have python and perl at my PC. Since I don't want to build
doc's and other fancy stuff, I hope I wont need it.

Regards,

Helge
