I have heard of people using ethereal to sniff packets from a WiFi adapter.
I would like to sniff some packets from a WEP enabled network but as I don't 
have the key my adapter cannot get an IP. Well, it gets a WinXP APIPA IP. I 
have unchecked the promiscious mode and do see some ARP and DHCP packets but 
not much else.

Is this because whoever is on the Network is not accessing the Internet or 
must I have an IP for my adapter for Ethereal.
