How can I get ethereal to run on Windows ME

Hi
 I have installed Ethereal 0.99.0. Although I think that Ethereal 0.99.0 has been installed on Windows ME it won't run. I keep getting an error message which says:


Err tile emem.c: line 252: assertion failed :(ret == TRUE)

Press any key to exit

then I get :

Run time Error !
abnormal program termination

What does this mean and how  can I get Ethereal to run on Windows ME?
