Ethereal/Wireshark just shows the packets that the underlying capture engine provides, so usually libpcap/WinPcap. Which OS are you using? What are you using to sniff the traffic between the two machines? Hub/switch? Have a nice day GV ----- Original Message ----- From: Torres, Javier To: Ethereal user support Sent: Friday, July 21, 2006 9:13 AM Subject: RE: [Ethereal-users] Gigabit card and captures I have noticed the same behavior with my gigabit nic card. It should be capturing both directions with the line I have in, but I only see one-way traffic. If anyone has something for us to try that would be great, Javier ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Pablo Gil Sent: Friday, July 21, 2006 4:40 AM To: Ethereal user support Subject: RE: [Ethereal-users] Gigabit card and captures HI, While capturing messages from two devices working at 10Mbps, the internal Gigabit card of my laptop only captures messages in one direction. If I change the card properties to 10Mbps I do not receive any messages at all. Moreover If I make the capture with my desktop PC the frames are captured in both directions. Any suggestion?
