Ethereal/Wireshark just shows the packets that the underlying capture engine
provides, so usually libpcap/WinPcap.

Which OS are you using?

-->Windows XP, the issue is that I have not notice this
problem with my Desktop but with my laptop both runnig XP. It seems it is an
issue in the network card

What are you using to sniff the traffic between the two machines?
Hub/switch?

-->It is a HUB, I captured ok while sniffing with my
Desktop.

BR,

Pablo

I have noticed the same behavior with my gigabit nic card. It should be
capturing both directions with the line I have in, but I only see one-way
traffic.

If anyone has something for us to try that would be great,

Javier

HI,

While capturing messages from two devices working at 10Mbps, the internal
Gigabit card of my laptop only captures messages in one direction.

If I change the card properties to 10Mbps I do not receive any messages at
all. Moreover If I make the capture with my desktop PC the frames are
captured in both directions.

Any suggestion?

Thanks

Pablo
