The last commit to the Ethereal source code repository was on 21.05.2006, so effectively the Ethereal project is dead now and I don't expect any enhancements will be made to it. Any further development is done at: http://www.wireshark.org/, you may consider to move there and use the corresponding mailing lists instead of this one.
