Well, I'd like to (partly) oppose that position: If you need to run this
as a university project where you need to document what you did
yourself, then yes, keeping it separate may be a requirement. On the
other hand, *specially* if you think your code is not *good enough for
inclusion*, then providing your code early and often is the best thing
you can do: You will hopefully receive lots of detailed bugreports,
feature requests and comments how to improve things or how to do them in
a better way.
