I would like to monitor Oracle network packets. However, I cannot find any documentation describing TNS protocol format. Is this a proprietary protocol? I am a bit confused when I google the net. /TNS stands for Transparent Network Substrate (TNS). This is a non- proprietary low-level interface that manages the opening and closing of sessions and the sending or receiving of requests. / Sample Chapter from Professional ASP Data Access My questions are: 1.So is it proprietary or not? 2.Is there any documentation describing the protocol format? 3.If no documentation, is studying the source code on ethereal tns dissector the only choice?
