I have been trying to respond to this message for several days now, and I'm sure I still don't know how. I am glad to hear you speak up. I found eb-lite when I was looking at ayttm, as I was looking for some simple protocol plugins that I might have been able to grab to start a project of my own. I quickly tried out eb-lite and it seemed to be on just the track I wanted. I have said I would do a lot more than I have, and I am sorry about that. I am partly hesitant to go off in some random direction that someone (me, Meredydd, ...) suggests when I see things which look more important lacking. I think we all want to go in different directions with this. In addition, I find a lot of the code awkward, and I have written some of my worst code for eb-lite. This all makes me unsure how to go forward. I seem to be constantly hitting dead ends or paralyzed. I've also complicated things by considering dealing with bitlbee, naim, and jabber, just to name a few projects which I *almost* (but currently don't) consider alternatives to eb-lite for what I want. I have no idea where I really want to go with this. I have considered branching the core just so that I can try different things at entirely my own cost, but I am sure I couldn't make much progress and keep a front-end in decent enough shape to have something to show for it in any reasonable time. I am certainly guilty of being a zombie in the IRC channel. I am all too often staring at IRC, but I often miss people when they stop in and say hi. I don't think we've fairly discussed goals or many important topics in there, but I think it's a start to having some more direction. Goals, to-do's...there's a TODO in the repository and bugzilla, but not much goes on in them, and I know it's not because everyone's done with what they want. I don't know how to organize this. Perhaps I could start by making a full list of what I want. There are a lot of things that irk me that I just want to understand better or sort out. Perhaps I should take a few weeks and try to make what I want instead. No idea where to go with this...I'm still raring to go, but...I'm lost.
