Not a server problem - they just have to cross-reference against a HUGE
database - not pretty. Anyway, it's not strictly spam, and doesn't involve
messages. It's rather a DOS attack, creating loads of "zombie" accounts and
adding the target to all their buddy lists, creating a huge surge of
authorisation messages.
