If I'm not mistaken, "invalid friendly name" means that your screen name 
has something MSN doesn't like in it.  Try logging in on an official 
windows client and making your name something simple, and also changing it 
to something simple in the everybuddy preferences window (it's under 
Modules -> MSN I think).
