Hi,
Okay first off here are my system specs:
OS: Solaris 8
System: Sun Microsystems Ultra 10
Desktop: GNOME 2.0
I have downloaded everybuddy0.1.5 from the sunfreeware.com site and
tried to install it, it says it is installed correctly, or at least it
doesn't complain during the pkgadd -d.... But when I try to run it...
> where everybuddy
/usr/local/bin/everybuddy
> everybuddy
ld.so.1: everybuddy: fatal: libgtk-1.2.so.0: open failed: No such file
or directory
Killed
>
I'm guessing that it can't find something from the gtk toolkit... but I
have installed this and glib (and audiofile and ESD) as well! I have
downloaded (before I installed everybuddy) the following files:
glib-1.2.10-sol8-sparc-local
gtk+-1.2.10-sol8-sparc-local
esound-0.2.8-sol8-sparc-local
audiofile-0.2.3-sol8-sparc-local
Here's a section from the ./configure on everybuddy-0.4.3 to show that
these are installed!!!
checking for esd-config... /usr/local/bin/esd-config
checking for ESD - version >= 0.2.7... cross compiling; assumed OK... yes
checking for artsc-config... no
checking for ARTS... cannot find artsc_config; you must provide
--with-arts-prefix
no - user override
checking for glib-config... /usr/local/bin/glib-config
checking for GLIB - version >= 1.2.0... cross compiling; assumed OK... yes
checking for gtk-config... /usr/local/bin/gtk-config
checking for GTK - version >= 1.2.0... cross compiling; assumed OK... yes
I installed them all simply with the usual pkgadd -d <file>, they all
install without error.
Please help me!! I just want to use an AIM & MSN client on Solaris 8!!
It's not much to ask!! I've been trying for ages to get this to work but
I'm very stuck. If no one can help me then I'm just gonna have to get my
PC back out of the cupboard! (and I don't want to have to do that)
I have also downloaded the everybuddy-0.4.3 source from the everybuddy
homepage but no luck with that either, the ./configure seems to work
okay but then the make yields:
> make
Making all in pixmaps
Making all in console_smileys
make: Fatal error: Don't know how to make target `all'
Current working directory
/usr/local/everybuddy-0.4.3/everybuddy-0.4.3/pixmaps/console_smileys
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `all-recursive'
Current working directory
/usr/local/everybuddy-0.4.3/everybuddy-0.4.3/pixmaps
*** Error code 1

Please help me get either of these versions working!!!!
thanks everyone!!
