Oh, of course, whoops. OK, step-by-step:

svn checkout http://subv.everybuddy.com:888/svn eb-lite/

This will create the directory eb-lite/, with a complete copy of the 
repository in there. The developers' working branch is in the trunk/ 
directory. Under there, there are currently two directories (ebqt and core).

mkdir edwards-ui
svn add edwards-ui

There. The directory edwards-ui will now be added to the trunk tree. Files 
and directories inside it should be added in the same way as with CVS, but do 
beware that adding directories with subversion is recursive. As with CVS, 
"svn commit" commits changes, including any pending additions.

To make a branch of the core, you should make use of the people/ directory. 
"svn copy trunk/core/ people/edwards-core" would make a copy of the core in 
the people directory, to be modified and committed like anything else.
