adding accounts in eb-lite?

i've got eb-lite and ebqt installed on solaris 8 (with some difficulty,
but they appear to work now), but i've encountered an _ever_ so minor
problem.

i can't add any new accounts.

i see that the new eb-lite stuff uses an 'everybuddy.conf' file, which
seems to be a "registry" file of some sort, and as such is not the easiest
thing to edit.  i also discovered the 'regbrowser' program (which is not
the easiest tool to use, but hey).  however, even with some code reading,
i can't see an easy way of adding my accounts.  also, the buttons in ebqt
just don't work (and no message in the ebqt or eb-lite logs) about why
they don't.

any hints at all on getting this configured?
