No message showing up in conversation window

Hi, People
I am running Mandrake 9.0 and I have accounts with both Yahoo and MSN. I
have Everybuddy installed and connected. The message window opens fine, and
I can type a message in the message screen with no prob. When I click send,
I hear the send sound, but nothing shows up on the conversation screen. The
recipient receives and can read the message, so I know I am connected. When
the other person sends me a message, I hear the receive sound, but no
message shows on the conversation screen. If I add an smiley, it shows up on
the con screen, but not the text. Help! ! ! ! Thank you.
